Discrimination and Harassment
Training
Internal reporting of discrimination
and harassment is actually a good thing. By encouraging employees
to file complaints of harassment and discrimination, it gives
you a chance to stop the behavior.
In a ruling in 1998, The Supreme
Court made it abundantly clear that the best way to stay out of
court for harassment or discrimination is to have a policy, ensure
that the employees know of the existence of the policy and have
a well-defined complaint procedure spelled out in that policy.
The Supreme Court went on to say that if a company does all of
this, and the employee unreasonably fails to utilize the complaint
procedure, the company has an affirmative defense against harassment
and discrimination lawsuits. McKenzieHR will train all of your
employees in their rights and responsibilities on reporting harassment
and discrimination.
